Operation Honor
A ministry of Grace Union Church to our local Law Enforcement officers. Through various avenues we encourage and support the 3rd and 4th Precincts of the St. Louis County Police.
What initially started by giving out gift certificates of local restuarants to the officers has expanded to:
-
Annual Carwashes - we thoroughly wash (inside and out) all the patrol cars and some specialty vehicles once a year.
-
Prayer Partners - On a voluntary basis, officers request a prayer partner from among the people who have a heart for this ministry.
-
Annual Softball Game/BBQ - No, we're not professionals, but we do have a lot of fun. This day is for the officers and their families to get together and just relax and have a bit of healthy competition.
-
Monthly "Goodies" - Each month the precincts receive freshly baked, sometimes homemade "goodies" from one of the volunteers who have signed up to assist in this ministry.
-
National Law Enforcement Week - This is a week that we use to serve and honor those who serve and protect us. We take lots of 'goodies', gifts, cards or words of encouragement, and take extra time to say THANK YOU to all the men and women who sacrifice to serve and protect us.
-
Ride-Alongs - A favorite past-time of Janet's (Founder of Operation Honor), these times of riding with an officer in their patrol car during their shift, can be one of the most incredible things that you can experience.
-
Thanksgiving Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner - Our officers put their lives on the line 24/7/365. As a way for us to let them know how much we appreciate them, we serve them breakfast, lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
